ruling unsealing the con-
fidential deal Jeffrey Ep-
stein struck with federal 
prosecutors to avoid being 
charged by them. 
The 4th District Court 
of Appeal this week up-
held Circuit Judge Jeffrey 
Colbath's earlier decision 
to unseal the agreement. 
Attorneys for the mon-
ey manager of billionaires 
have fought vigorously 
against the agreement's 
release. They have 15 
days to request a rehear-
ing with the 4th District 
Court of Appeal. 
Absent that, it will be-
come public.

his Palm Beach home and 
paid to perform massages 
and other acts. 
That civil litigation, is 
intensifying. 
This week, while Ep-
stein was being deposed 
by attorney Spencer Kuvin, 
who represents an alleged 
victim identified only as 
"BR", Kuvin questioned 
Epstein about the shape 
of his genitalia and the 
deposition abruptly ended, 
according to a transcript. 
Kuvin has since made 
a motion in court to be 
able to inspect Epstein's 
genitalia. 
Kuvin said Thursday he 
seeks to corroborate a de-
scription one woman gave 
Palm Beach police. 
Because Epstein is in-
voking his right to remain 
silent in depositions, this 
is the only way to do it, 
Kuvin said. 
"We want to corroborate 
what those girls saw,"

Epstein's sweet deal

The Fourth District Court of Appeal just flicked 
the cherry from the top of convicted sex offender 
Jeffrey Epstein's legal sundae. 
In spite of vigorous opposition from Epstein's 
highly skilled, highly paid legal team, the court 
affirmed Judge Jeffrey Colbath's earlier order to 
unseal the billionaire's plea deal with prosecutors 
In exchange for Epstein's admission of guilt to 
charges of procuring teenage girls for acts of 
prostitution, he was sentenced to 18 months in 
jail. 
The plea agreement, which caused sentencing 
judge Deborah Pucillo to shake her head in 
amazement, allowed Epstein to serve his 
sentence at the Palm Beach County jail rather 
than state prison; allowed him extensive time out 
of the facility for work release; and was sealed 
from public view.

Toward the end of his incarceration, which 
ultimately was little more than a year, he was 
spending as much as 14 hours a day—
accompanied and supervised by deputies from 
the Palm Beach County Sheriffs Office — at his 
home or at his attorney's office, tending to his 
money management business. 
Attorneys representing Epstein's victims in civil 
lawsuits, as well as attorneys for The Palm Beach 
Post, successfully asked Colbath to unseal the 
plea agreement. Epstein's lawyers, in turn, sought 
the intervention of the appeals court. 
The next move belongs to Epstein's legal team, 
who have have 15 days to ask the appeals court 
for a re-hearing.

Jeffrey Epstein, the pushing-60 Palm Beacher with a fondness for teenage girls, 
pleaded guilty last year in state court because he escaped prosecution in federal 
court. In nine days, the public should know more about how that happened.

Last week, the 4th District Court of Appeal rejected Epstein's argument to keep the 
federal deal secret. Attorneys for some of the girls Epstein had others bring to his 
house want the deal, which his legal team calls "unprecedented," made public 
because the information could help their civil lawsuits. So does The Palm Beach Post, since secrecy 
benefits Epstein, not the public.

piqued the interest of attorneys who have tried unsuccessfully to get similar deals for their clients. 
"I've tried, but they've always blown me off and hosed my clients," said attorney Glenn Mitchell. "But 
then I didn't have a client worth a billion dollars. But I am looking for one." 
It certainly will be curious, said attorney John Cleary. 
"The law is like a spider's web," Cleary said. "It only catches the little flies while the wasps fly through."

As a 57-year-old guy, I'm sen-
sitive to these things. 
But even if Jeffrey Epstein 
looked like Jeffrey Dahmer, 
you figure that with his re-
sume he could find all kinds 
of great-looking 30-year-old 
women. If he wanted to 
stretch it, he could find 25-
year-old women willing to 
cross that three-decade gap. 
Instead, Jeffrey Epstein 
wanted girls. The younger 
the better, according to a 
Palm Beach police investi-
gation. He was willing to pay 
them. He had other women 
arrange the hookups. The 
girls would come to that 
house on Palm Beach and 
take $200 or $300 to give 
Jeffrey Epstein massages. 
Sometimes, the girls would 
be naked. Sometimes, the 
girls told investigators, they 
had sex with Epstein. 
Now, if you are 56 and look 
like Jeffrey Dahmer and you 
live in a two-bedroom house 
in Lake Worth and you pay 
girls for such ... dates and

don't end well. If you are Jef-
frey Epstein, your posse of 
lawyers includes the special 
prosecutor in the Monica 
Lewinsky case. You beat a 
federal rap and get a state 
plea deal that comes with an

jail instead of state prison, 
even if you are also labeled a 
sex offender. You have to be 
in jail only at night. 
And when you walk out 
for the last time, as Jeffrey 
Epstein did before dawn July 
22, one of your attorneys, Jack 
Goldberger, says, "There was 
never any victims." 
No victims? Then why 
did Jeffrey Epstein plead 
guilty to felony of solicita-
tion of prostitution and pro-
curing a person under the 
age of 18 for prostitution? 
, "I wasn't talking about 
the victims in the criminal 
case," Mr. Goldberger said. 
He is Epstein's lead local 
attorney. In an interview 
last week, he said that he 
was referring only to the 
girls/women who have filed 
lawsuits against Epstein. 
Mr. Goldberger blamed his 
comment on the early hour. 
' Nevertheless, Mr. Gold-
berger and the other attorneys 
put the girls on triaL The legal 
team got former Palm Beach 
County State Attorney Barry 
Krischer to back off early by 
showing him comments that 
the girls had made online 
about using sex and alcohol. 
Gee, there's a flash: Teen-

money over and over to

Obviously, Epstein and his 
recruiters sought out such 
girls. Meanwhile, the attor-
neys tried to shift responsi-
bility from predator to prey. 
I wanted to talk with 
those esteemed attorneys. 
Kenneth Starr, whose report 
led to Bill Clinton's impeach-
ment, is dean of Pepperdine 
University Law School in 
Malibu, Calif The school's 
mission statement advertis-
es its "Christian emphasis." 
So why would Mr. Starr rep-
resent such a sleazebag? 
A school spokesman said 
Mr. Starr, who is traveling 
in Israel, "has decided not to 
comment at this time." So the 
man can produce a 154-page 
report detailing every sexual 
moment between Bill Clinton 
and one female who was past 
the age of consent but won't 
explain why he lobbied the 
Justice Department on be-
half of a man who repeatedly 
misused many females? 
Another A-list member of 
the legal team is Alan Der-
showitz, the Harvard Law 
School professor who has 
his own Web site with a link 
to "multimedia." I e-mailed 
him and got this response:

ing." I did. If he considered. 
he didn't respond. 
But to be clear, there were 
victims. Some may not real-
ize it for years. And still an-
other victim is the system, 
which showed itself again to 
be up for sale. You don't have 
to wait to realize that.
