(*) Note: Includes any cases pending where telephone records were
generated between 09/01/2001 and present but the matter is now
closed.

requested, the field office shall include a justification for the
request.
Pursuant to a request for processing support entered
into the Baleen Sweep SharePoint (http://home/teamsites/baleen-
sweep/default.aspx) under this same Baleen Sweep case number and
serial (one request per target), it is requested that the DocLab
provide scanning and automation assistance in support of

review of the material was success u y con ucted. It is
understood that Baleen Sweep does not process and load subscriber
data.
Miami uses the TA, as its centralized repository for
storage and retrieval of scanned (hard copy) and electronic
intelligence information in support of investigative and
intelligence operations. It is requested that the enclosed
telephone records be scanned at the Case File level for
incorporation into TA. It is understood that the material will
be saved in the following file types: TIFF, TXT, searchable PDF,
and non-searchable PDF.
It is requested that the TXT files be forwarded by

Miami Division opened an obstruction of justice case
against subject ALFREDO RODRIGUEZ in October 2009. RODRIGUEZ was
the former house manager and butler to JEFFREY EPSTEIN, the
subject of a child prostitution case. During his employment,
RODRIGUEZ came into possession of an address book containing
names and telephone numbers of what are believed to be additional
underage victims of EPSTEIN that were previously unknown.
RODRIGUEZ attempted to sell the address book to a UCE rather than

subpoenas issued during pending civil litigation. Toll records
obtained from the address book are believed to belong to EPSTEIN
and his associates or to potential underage victims. All
information and phone records should be considered unclassified
in nature.
NOTE: If the documents are not evidence, or the documents are
subject to Grand Jury 6e, please state as such.
ATTENTION FOR SECURITY:
Miami is aware of the classification
level of the records being submitted to DocLab. It is the
responsibility of the sender to make sure all documents are
shipped in the proper manner.
ATTENTION FOR EVIDENCE SCANNING:
All coordination for the
temporary transfer of evidentiary material to the DocLab will be
coordinated directly with Miami Evidence Control Technician
(ECT). Miami is only sending documentary evidence. As
necessary, the ECT has split the 1B if documentary and non-
documentary evidence are co-mingled in one 1B. Also, any
documentary evidence requiring forensic analysis must be
submitted to the Laboratory Division first, not DocLab.
SECRET HIGH MEDIA:
DocLab scans all documents classified SECRET
and below on a SECRET high system called the Document Conversion
System (DCS). All media returned from DCS will be classified
SECRET. This does not change the classifications of the
documents, just the media on which they are stored. Should you
need UNCLASSIFIED media, DocLab can run the stored media through
Integrity to return UNCLASSIFIED documents on UNCLASSIFIED media.
Miami is aware that this process is labor intensive and will make
the request only as necessary. Under routine conditions, DocLab
can return SECRET high media faster than UNCLASSIFIED media

Epstein's ex-butler sentenced to 18 months for
trying to sell billionaire sex offender's journal for
$5oK
By JANE MUSGRAVE
Palm Beach Post Staff Writer
Updated: 4:35 p.m. Friday, June 18, 2010
Posted: 11:59 a.m. Friday, June 18, 2010
A former houseman of billionaire sex offender Jeffrey Epstein Friday received the same 18-month
sentence as his onetime employer.
However, white Epstein was sentenced to 18 months in jail for sexually exploiting underage girls, Alfredo
Rodriguez got the same sentence for trying to sell a journal that recorded the Palm Beaches sexual
dalliances.
U.S. District Judge Kenneth Marra acknowledged that it didn't make sense to give Rodriguez a longer
sentence than Epstein. However, had Rodriguez given investigators the joumal when they asked for it,
Epstein might not have received such a light sentence, the judge said.
"If the information had come to light sooner, Mr. Epstein's situation would have turned out differently,"
Marra said.
Instead, Rodriguez, 56, tried to sell the journal for $50,000 to an attorney who is representing one of
nearly two dozen women who filed civil lawsuits against Epstein. Further, on March 18, the same day he
pleaded guilty to obstructing justice, the Kendall man was arrested in Miami for possession of guns that
federal agents believed were used in an illegal firearms smug lin ring. He is expected to plead guilty to
those charges, said Assistant U.S. Attorney
She described Rodriguez's failure to produce the journal as an opportunity lost for the federal
government's investigation of Epstein. A federal grand jury was investigating whether young girls were
being brought to Epstein's mansion along the Intracoastal Waterway from other states. Some of the
information in the journal and information Rodriguez provided after his arrest seemed to confirm those
suspicions.
Whether the journal could have been used to slap Epstein with charges that could have sent him to
prison for decades, is unknown,
.aid.
"Would it have significantly advanced the ball? Yes," she said.
Instead, federal prosecutors halted the grand jury investigation and cut a deal with the 57-year-old high-
flying money manager. He pleaded guilty to two state charges and served 13 months of an 18-month
sentence. In addition, he agreed to pay for attorneys to represent some of the young women who claim
they were brought to his mansion for sexually charged massages when they were as young as 14. Some
of the women hired their own attorneys.
Of the nearly two dozen lawsuits that were filed, Epstein has settled all but seven and also reached
agreements with 12 women who elected not to file suit.

Federal public defender Dave Brannon, who represented Rodriguez, suggested his client's financial
problems - which prompted him to seek illicit ways to make money - were the result of his association
with Epstein. Until this year, he had been a law-abiding citizen.
Having worked for the wealthy for years, none would hire him after they learned that he had worked for
Epstein.
"None of the wealthy wanted anything to do with anyone who was associated with what went on in Mr.
Epstein's house," Brannon said.

Title: ALFREDO RODRIGUEZ;
OBSTRUCTION OF JUSTICE
Synopsis: EC requesting Trenton RA to conduct interview of federal
inmate, STEVEN HOFFENBERG, regarding captioned investigation.
Details: In October 2009, Mi
Division opened an obstruction of
justice case against ALFREDO ODRIGUEZ. RODRIGUEZ was the previous
hgdse manager and butler to alm Beach County resident JEFFREY.
STEIN. EPSTEIN was the s ject of child prostitution, 31E matter,
worked by Miami Division beginning in 2006. Investigation of EPSTEIN
revealed that he brought underage girls to his home to perform
massages and paid them to engage in sex acts with himself and one
another. The U.S. Attorney's Office entered into a non-prosecution
agreement where EPSTEIN pled guilty to lesser state offenses in
Florida state court. EPSTEIN was sentenced to a period of state prison
followed by community supervision as a registered sex offender.
EPSTEIN's victims filed suit against EPSTEIN in state and
federal court seeking damages in civil litigation. During the
discovery process, RODRIGUEZ was deposed by attorney BRADLEY EDWARDS
who represented several of the victims. After his deposition,
RODRIGUEZ contacted EDWARDS and advised that he had lists of
additional victims that he had not previously disclosed to law
enforcement during the criminal investigation or after being served
with a subpoena in the civil case. RODRIGUEZ advised he would not turn
the information over to the attorney but instead wanted monetary
compensation. In November 2009, RODRIGUEZ attempted to sell the

information to a UCE for $50,000.00, which resulted in the above
captioned case.
Also during the civil litigation, EDWARDS' law firm
contacted STEVEN HOFFENBERG as a potential plaintiff's witness against
EPSTEIN. HOFFENBERG is a federal inmate at Fort Dix'Federal
Correctional Institution (FCI), inmate number 35601-054. HOFFENBERG
was a former business associate or acquaintance of EPSTEIN. HOFFENBERG
is serving a 20-year sentence for his role in a Ponzi scheme and
securities fraud that was worked by the New York field office, 196C-
NY-235483. Through correspondence, HOFFENBERG advised EDWARDS' firm
that he had information regarding JEFFREY EPSTEIN being involved in
the murder of a Columbus, Ohio attorney named ARTHUR L. SHAPIRO.
SHAPIRO was killed on March 6, 1985 in the Columbus area. The case
remains unsolved. A review of ACS does not reflect HOFFENBERG offered
this information as a proffer during the 196C matter. It should be
noted that HOFFENBERG appears to have a history of mental illness.
Since his incarceration, he has filed civil rights complaints
regarding the facilities he has been assigned to.
It is requested that Trenton RA interview HOFFENBERG for
information regarding JEFFREY EPSTEIN and his involvement or knowledge
of the murder of SHAPIRO.

attempted to sell the information to a UCE for $50,000.00, which
resulted in the above captioned case.
Approximately three weeks ago, information was provided
to Miami Division, PBCRA, that ROBERT COUTURIER, an interior
designer and architect based in New York, was hired by EPSTEIN
for remodeling and design services at EPSTEIN's residence located
in the Virgin Islands. COUTURIER reportedly designed a bedroom in
EPSTEIN's island residence with decor and furniture appropriate
for teenage girls, with pink furnishings and bunk beds. In
addition, COUTURIER reported seeing EPSTEIN in the company of
what appeared to be an underage girl. It is unclear whether the
underage girl with EPSTEIN was observed at the Virgin Island
residence or at EPSTEIN's Palm Beach County home. EPSTEIN and
COUTURIER may be currently involved in civil litigation against
one another for services COUTURIER provided.
It is requested that New York Division interview
COUTURIER regarding work and services he performed for EPSTEIN
and COUTURIER's observation of potential underage girls in
EPSTEIN's company.
